Kick Wall, Shuttington
A floodlit kick Wall has been constructed next to Shuttington Village Hall and is very popular with the younger residents of the village.

Football pitches, Shuttington
The two football pitches have recently been marked out and we look forward to this year's season. Drayton Manor F.C. are one of the teams currently using the pitches. (See picture below).

Alvecote Play Area
A small grass play area with swings, climbing frames and bench. Makeover coming soon!!

Alvecote Priory Picnic Area
This 3 acre site sits on a sharp bend of the Coventry Canal about 3 miles east of Tamworth, and is best accessed from Pooley Country Park. An ideal location for family picnics and games. The mature shrubs and trees once formed the gardens of the house which was built from the stone of the old Benedictine Priory. The site is owned by Warwickshire County Council and managed by North Warwickshire Borough Council Location map.

Alvecote Meadows Nature Reserve SSSI<The Wildlife Trust>
Owned by Warwickshire Wildlife Trust and designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest! You can see many interesting plants and birds; including Snipes, Hoverflys and Dragonflys.

Public Transport
Two bus routes link Shuttington and Alvecote with Tamworth and Polesworth, the 785 and 786. See the transport page for more details.

 

Wolferstan Arms Pub, ShuttingtonWolfastan Arms
A really nice pub restaurant with outstanding views over the local countryside. Known to locals as 'The Nob' it's good food, friendly atmosphere make this a popular venue. With lots of choice on the menu and on offer at 2 for 1 it's understandable why it's popular.

Pretty Pigs Pub, Amington
Situated by the side of the lakes with large beer gardens and famous carvery menu, the Pretty Pigs is always a popular choice.

Samuel Barlow Pub, Alvecote Marina
The Samuel Barlow Bar and Restaurant at Alvecote Marina is a unique canalside drinking and dining venue offering panoramic first floor views across Alvecote Marina and Canal.

Shuttington ShopShuttington Store
The Parish's only shop, located on Main Road, Shuttington. Selling sweets, newspapers and general groceries. Open seven days a week including Bank Holidays. Please try and support our local shop, it would be a shame to loose such a valuable ammenity serving the parish.

Pooley Country Park, Polesworth
There are so many things to see and do at Pooley Country Park. The 62.5 hectare site, one third of which is a designated Site of Special Scientific Interest, contains several pools caused by mining subsidence, woodland habitats and is situated on the Coventry Canal. A brilliant new Play Area was opened to the public in March 2006, thanks to generous funding from WREN (landfill tax credits) of £23,452 and £12,000 from the Market Towns Initiative and Advantage West Midlands.
